Since 1934, The Australian Society of Anaesthetists has a proud history of supporting research by Australian Anaesthetists.  These are administered by the Scientific Prizes, Awards and Research Committee (SPARC) and State Committees.   The current research priorities of the ASA are:

  • Environment and Anaesthesia
  • Innovation and Anaesthesia
  • Safety in Anaesthesia

1. ASA Small Grants

Small grants (maximum $3000) are suitable for trainees and early career researchers.  Two rounds are available with application deadlines in March and October each year.

2.  Pre-National Scientific Congress (NSC) adjudicated grants

These prizes, awards and grants are administered by SPARC.  Recipients are decided prior to the NSC.  The application deadline is June each year.

3. NSC Presentation Awards

Applications and deadlines for abstracts for these prizes are via that year’s NSC registration website.
