As of 1st January 2024, all doctors in Australia will be required by the Medical Board and Ahpra and the Australian Medical Council (AMC) to nominate a CPD home.

The ASA is pleased to announce that it has become an investor in DoctorPortal Learning Pty Ltd (DPL). DPL Pty Ltd (ABN 65 630 316 942), trading as ‘CPD Home’, is a jointly owned subsidiary of the Australian Medical Association (WA) Inc. (ABN 93 091 452 326) and Australian Society of Anaesthetists (ASA) (ABN 16 095 377 370).

Our CPD Home has been accredited by the Australian Medical Council (AMC) to provide a CPD home service to all doctors, regardless of specialty or career stage. With development guided by a deep understanding of the demands of being a specialist, ASA’s CPD Home Partner and Portal offers an easy transition into compulsory accredited CPD home subscription, giving you the ability to take control of your CPD, track your progress and record your learning.

We provide a CPD Home Program and learning support services to all doctors, including Australian registered:

• medical specialists

• IMGs not on a specialist pathway, with limited or provisional registration

• PGY3+ doctors not in a specialty training program

• all other general registration doctors including non-vocationally registered medical practitioners.

As part of this initiative, ASA CEO, Dr Matthew Fisher, has been appointed director to the Board of DPL, and ASA Vice President, Dr Vida Viliunas, has a position on the DPL CPD Advisory Panel.

The ASA has for many years coordinated the CPD needs of a number of anaesthetists who are not Fellows of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) and this investment will enable us to continue managing the needs of these members under the new requirements. The ASA has great respect for the CPD offering of ANZCA – the CPD home for most anaesthetists – and see this DPL initiative as complementary, offering a choice in response to the new AMC requirements, including a natural fit for those who have relied on the ASA as a CPD home up to this point.
