Science Prizes and Research in the ASA

The ASA is committed to support members (including Trainee Members), who are currently engaged in research related to anaesthesia, intensive care or pain management. The goal is to improve patient outcomes through financial support of research activities conducted and led by ASA members in Australia.

The ASA is addressing these current research priorities:

  • Environment and Anaesthesia
  • Innovation and Anaesthesia
    Safety in Anaesthesia

Preference will be given to applicants enrolled in a Higher Degree Research (HDR), or post-doctoral emerging research leader (<10 years full-time equivalent post-doctoral as per 2022 NHMRC guidelines).

However, non-priority research proposals, and all eligible applicants regardless of Higher Degree Research (HDR)/post-doctoral status, are actively encouraged and will be equally considered.
