The Australian Society of Anaesthetists (ASA), the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) and the New Zealand Society of Anaesthetists (NZSA) have published a joint statement on decommissioning nitrous oxide medical gas pipeline systems.
The statement confirms that all three organisations jointly support:
- Decommissioning nitrous oxide (N2 O) medical gas pipeline systems (MGPS).
- Avoiding installation of new N2 O MGPS.
- Utilising point of care cylinder supply where N2 O is required for clinical use.
